Financial Assistance, Grants, and Emergency Relief

Since 2005, over $1.5 million in emergency grants have been provided to military members and their families to ensure their safety and well-being.

These grants do not need to be repaid and often include financial counseling. Funds can be distributed in as little as 24 hours to cover expenses such as:

  • Housing costs
  • Temporary lodging
  • Food
  • Vehicle repairs
  • Utilities
  • Emergency home repairs
  • And other essential family support expenses

It’s easy to get help or refer someone in need.

  1. Call (802) 338-3076 to start an application with Family Readiness.
  2. Provide required documents and complete application.
  3. Application is reviewed by the Board for approval and determination of funding.

Once approved, payments are sent directly to the vendor on behalf of the grant requestor

“Just wanted to express my sincere gratitude on having you all bail me out. Times just became real rough real fast and quite honestly wasnʼt sure which way to go with this one…I know thereʼs a ton of issues out there and without you all who knows what would happen.”
